AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' DOG TRAINING, LLC, based in Cresskill, NJ, works with dogs of all ages and breeds using positive reinforcement methods. Lessons are privately taught in the convenience of your home. This way, your dog is not distracted by unfamiliar settings or by other dogs. Private training allows for a great deal to be accomplished in a short period of time.

All Puppy Training addresses the COMMON BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS that puppies exhibit such as play-biting/nipping, jumping on people and furniture, housebreaking, chewing things, stealing items/food off counters, etc. Of course, all BASIC COMMANDS will be covered so that you will have better control over your dog. Basic training principles will also be discussed.

There are no binding contracts. The basic program consists of five one-hour lessons spaced approximately one week apart. However, you do not need to take all five classes. You can take as few as one or as many as you want. Days, evenings and weekends are available for your convenience.

Ain't Misbehavin' Dog Training, LLC is highly recommended by local veterinarians, and is a Professional Member of the APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) and a Full Member of the Pet Professional Guild.

ADVANCED BASIC OBEDIENCE
Basic commands will continue to be covered and brought up to a more advanced level. New commands will be taught, as well as "off-leash" training.

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
The elimination of behavior problems begins with obedience training. However, certain specific problems may be corrected with one or two Behavior Modification sessions. 10 Commandments of Dog Training

  1. Think like your dog when teaching him something. See things from his perspective, not just yours.
  2. Anger has no place in training. Have patience and understanding.
  3. Timing is crucial, whether it be a correction or praise (within 2 seconds of behavior).
  4. Always be consistent. Nothing is more detrimental to your dog's positive behavior development than inconsistency.
  5. NEVER hit your dog, under any circumstance.
  6. Correct your dog only if you catch him in the act. Otherwise, forget it and be prepared next time.
  7. Don't use the word "no" for everything he may do wrong. This will only become confusing to your dog.
  8. Repetition, Repetition, Repetition.
  9. Never use your dog's name against him, as in yelling it at him.
  10. Praise him! You'll get amazing results, more so that punishing your dog when he doesn't do what you want.
